Summary: The Senior ETL Lead role involves designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines to support enterprise-wide analytics and reporting needs. The position requires collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure data quality and integrity while implementing scalable ETL solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ETL processes and data architecture, along with strong leadership skills to mentor junior engineers. This role is based in Northampton and requires on-site presence 2 to 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable ETL solutions across multiple data sources and platforms.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements for analytics, MI, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to support Real Time and batch data processing.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across systems.
  • Implement messaging and streaming solutions (eg, Kafka, Azure Event Hubs) for Real Time data ingestion.
  • Optimize ETL performance and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to best practices in data engineering.
  • Work closely with BI developers, data analysts, and data scientists to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain documentation for data flows, architecture, and processes.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in ETL development and data engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in ETL tools (eg, Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and cloud-native data services.
  • Hands-on experience with messaging systems (eg, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus).
  • Proficiency in SQL and Scripting languages (Python, Shell).
  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
