Summary: The ETL IBM Datastage Consultant role involves designing, developing, and delivering data integration and extraction solutions using IBM Datastage and ControlM. The consultant will ensure code quality governance, support regional projects, and collaborate closely with central design teams. Additionally, the position requires mentoring peers and maintaining high data integrity through established testing and quality control processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and deliver data integration/data extraction solutions using IBM Datastage and ControlM for flow scheduling.
  • Bring in governance around code quality and norms & guidelines.
  • Support for regional projects and teams.
  • Interact with stakeholders to understand and implement new requirements.
  • Migrate from ETL IBM DataStage to Talend as needed.
  • Build process and documentation of best practices, coding norms, and guidelines.
  • Debug data quality issues by analyzing upstream sources.
  • Work closely with Architecture & designer to understand business requirements.
  • Lead by example, mentor, and train peers.
  • Ensure proper testing and quality control processes are established and followed.
  • Provide support to Business Partners in analyzing business initiatives.

Key Skills:

  • 7+ years relevant experience on Datastage, Unix, SQL, and 10+ years overall experience.
  • Experience with multi-domain projects such as Retail, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases.
  • Knowledge of multi-cloud tenant and PAAS architecture.
  • Data integration design using various data formats.
  • Experience with optimization techniques like indexing and caching.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and Kafka.
  • Strong documentation skills and process-oriented mindset.
  • Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
