Knowledge of Building Services. Relevant knowledge in electrical mechanical or building maintenance IOSH safety qualification Some knowledge of regulations, statutory requirements, and standards, appropriate in the builtenvironment/healthcare Experienced working with contractors or direct labourPerson specificationQualifications / Training RequiredEssential criteriaCapable to completing a Commercial Procurement and Supply (formerly public sector commercial professional) Apprenticeship as well as a 1-year Trade Awareness & Duty Engineer internal training programme.Professional knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent.Experience of interpreting and understanding technical drawings e.g. CADIOSH managing safely qualification must have or acquire within 6-months of taking up postDuring training capable of attaining extensive experience of engineering installations including Health care codes and Procurement routesDuring training capable of attaining knowledge of Building Regs and understanding of statutory and legal processes in respect to site developments or acquire training within agreed period of time.Desirable criteriaNEEBOSH General CertificateMembership of a recognised professional organisation is encouragedPrevious or relevant experience necessaryEssential criteriaRelevant experience in the engineering and/or building construction industry including site supervision of contractors, working to complex programmes and delivery schedules or capable of attaining through training period.Relevant experience of electrical mechanical or building maintenance and/or design and minor installation works in construction industry or Healthcare or capable of attaining through training period.Knowledge of HBN/HTM, asbestos regulations and Approved Codes of Practice etc or capable of attaining through training period.Experience of managing directly employed labour and contractors in the delivery of (a) carrying out minor projects (b)a reactive maintenance provision, (c) a planned maintenance provision, or (d) a combined service provision or capable of attaining through training period.Management of professional level staff across estates and building services disciplines - delegates workload and draws out the best performance and standards or capable of attaining through training period.Ability to manage delegated budgets, expenditure, and cost control on delegated projectsDesirable criteriaRelevant experience in the health service environmentGood working knowledge of Engineering, Construction Design & Management RegulationsExperienced in developing contract tender specifications and undertaking full contract evaluations and interviewsProject Management experienceAptitudes And Skills RequiredEssential criteriaCarry out technical evaluations/investigations, analyse information and make appropriate judgementsGood IT skills and ability to use MS office, spreadsheetsDesirable criteriaPrepare solid Business Cases and written reports for a senior audienceValues and behavioursEssential criteriaPatients FirstAlways ImprovingWorking Together
