Our growing banking client is seeking to hire an ESG Risk professional for an initial 6 month contract.

ESG Role: Risk Department

Accountabilities

  • Design and implement risk frameworks, policies and procedures to close gaps against the mandatory CSRD reporting requirements
  • Engage with BNS Group Functions to understand Group approaches and drive incorporation of European regulatory expectation.
  • Provide expertise in identifying ESG risk transmission channels driving principal risk types
  • Build out internal controls, KPI/KRIs etc. to monitor and control for ESG risks
  • Liaise with Global Risk Management Stress Testing Teams to ensure delivery of appropriate Climate and Environmental Stress Testing
  • Monitor and assess upcoming ESG standards and legislation, and integrate same into the Bank's risk management frameworks and policies.
  • Ensure that key personnel across the company are aware of their responsibilities and accountabilities regarding ESG reporting, providing training and support where needed
  • Support cross-functional engagement on assessing and reporting on material ESG and sustainability topics
  • Provide regular updates to Executive Function/Senior Management on delivery of ESG project plan.

Competencies

  • Demonstrable experience of project/programme management.
  • Experience in sustainability strategy design and implementation., including developing KPIs, preferably within a financial institution.
  • Strong people management, communication and leadership skills are a necessity.
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter capable of acting on own initiative and problem solving.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture and how ESG is incorporated into same.
