Summary: The ERP Project Manager role involves leading the initial phase of an ERP transformation project for an organization in Sheffield. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the initial phase of an ERP programme, defining scope, vision, and roadmap
  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements
  • Support and drive the ERP vendor selection process (RFI/RFP, evaluation, due diligence)
  • Establish governance structures, timelines, and delivery plans
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies early in the life cycle
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align ERP strategy with business objectives
  • Provide recommendations on ERP platforms, architecture, and implementation approach

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience delivering ERP programmes in a Project Manager capacity, ideally in a public sector setting
  • Strong track record in early-stage ERP (pre-selection/discovery phase)
  • Experience running ERP vendor selection processes
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience across finance, operations, HR, payroll systems is desirable
  • Familiarity with major ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) is advantageous

We're looking for an experienced ERP Project Manager to join an organisation based in Sheffield on an initial 3-month contract. This role sits at the very early stage of an ERP transformation, where no system has yet been selected, so you will play a key role in shaping the programme from the ground up.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in greenfield environments, enjoys influencing senior stakeholders, and has a strong background in ERP strategy and selection.

Your new role
