Contract: Dynamics 365 ERP Data Specialist (SQL / Automation) Wolverhamtpon | Hybrid (1 day onsite per week) £350-400 per day (Outside IR36) 8 Weeks with potential extension - Start date: 5th Jan ideally
We’re supporting a business that has recently implemented Dynamics 365 and needs short-term, hands-on support to tidy up a number of ERP data, reporting logic and automation gaps. This is a pragmatic delivery role, not a platform build or transformation programme.
What you’ll be doing
- Fixing sales order reporting logic, ensuring changes (adds, reductions, cancellations) are recorded in the correct period using snapshot/delta-style data logic
- Improving ERP data history tracking (e.g. dwell / status duration) by storing events in Dataverse
- Restructuring orderbook categorisations by combining multiple D365 fields into a single, consistent view
- Supporting a mass update in Dynamics 365 (e.g. marking items as End of Life) alongside an implementation partner
- Re-pointing Power Automate flows from a legacy ERP to Dynamics 365
- Wiring up a barcode printing trigger (BarTender) when database updates occur
- Power BI reports already exist — no dashboard build required.
What we’re looking for
- Hands-on experience working with Dynamics 365 data (Finance / Supply Chain context ideal)
- Strong SQL / data manipulation skills
- Practical experience with ETL, data shaping and automation
- Comfortable working with loosely defined requirements and running tasks end-to-end
- A pragmatic mindset — focused on getting things working, not over-engineering
