Summary: The ERP Business Analyst role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining financial database systems for a family-run manufacturing company in Basildon. The position requires immediate availability and focuses on ensuring the integrity and performance of database infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The analyst will also be responsible for data protection strategies and integrating new technologies to enhance operational efficiency. Strong experience with ERP systems, particularly SAGE, and excellent analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute implementation projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery within budget and agreed timelines.
  • Conduct system analysis, design product functionalities, and create necessary documentation.
  • Develop and implement data protection strategies, including encryption and secure access controls.
  • Configure applications, conduct system testing, and develop data migration strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth programme execution.
  • Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the implementation process.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends in automation and software innovations.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate new technologies to improve operational efficiency or service delivery.
  • Work with company leadership to identify areas where cloud technologies can drive innovation in accounting practices.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in ERP system configuration.
  • Experience with continuous integration tools for project management.
  • Strong knowledge of relational database management systems.
  • Experience with database design, data modeling, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with database security best practices and tools.
  • Experience with database backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting packages (SAGE 50).
  • Full UK Driving License.
