Summary: We are looking for a Packaged Equipment Engineer to support an engineering project in Aberdeen, UK, with opportunities for both contract and permanent employment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background, particularly in delivering pressure systems and static equipment packages in brownfield or offshore environments. This role involves leading the specification, design, and delivery of various equipment while ensuring compliance with engineering standards. The position also includes mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with various teams to meet project milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the specification, design, and delivery of packaged and static equipment such as pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, and ancillary systems
- Develop and review work packs, technical documentation, and engineering deliverables to meet client and project specifications
- Ensure all equipment complies with relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. ASME VIII, PED)
- Manage vendor and fabricator interfaces from design through to final installation
- Liaise with procurement, project engineering, and construction teams to meet project milestones
- Support risk assessments, QA/QC reviews, and ensure engineering integrity across all phases
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and support package team development
- Attend client meetings, conduct vendor inspections, and perform site surveys when required
Key Skills:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
- Hands-on experience delivering static equipment packages in oil & gas or heavy industrial projects
- Strong working knowledge of ASME VIII, welding standards, and fabrication codes
- Proven capability to manage work packs and full package lifecycle from design to installation
- Demonstrated leadership or team coordination experience
- Previous work in EPC, consultancy, or brownfield/offshore project delivery is highly desirable
