Environmental Test Technician

Summary: The Environmental Test Technician role involves conducting technical maintenance and support for engineering projects, particularly in the defence sector. The technician will assist in the fabrication, testing, and evaluation of defence-related equipment while ensuring compliance with security regulations. Collaboration with engineering teams to enhance operational efficiency and maintaining accurate documentation are key aspects of the position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting technical maintenance and support for engineering projects
• Assisting in the fabrication, testing, and evaluation of defence-related equipment
• Ensuring compliance with BPSS + SC Security Levels and ITAR regulations
• Collaborating with engineering teams to enhance operational efficiency
• Maintaining accurate documentation and reports of technical procedures
• Managing and operating specialised tooling and equipment as required

Key Skills:

• Experience as a technician, preferably within the defence or a closely related sector
• Ability to conduct technical and maintenance tasks onsite
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 desirable
• Experience of working within a mechanical environment
• Use of SAP, Microsoft Office and Teamcenter are desirable
• Weapons background
• Robust nature as working outside mainly from 0 deg to -12 deg
• Strong safety ethic
• A Team player in small teams
• Have a recognised Safety and Health Management qualification eg IOSH, desirable
