Summary: The Environmental Sustainability Advisor role involves providing support and guidance to project teams on environmental management for a Nuclear Power Station development's rail links. Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with project teams to deliver environmental and sustainability commitments, ensuring ongoing compliance with company and customer requirements.
- Demonstrate active leadership on site to drive continual improvement and deliver positive outcomes in line with the Rail Sustainability Plan.
- Provide environmental support, guidance, and compliance monitoring to projects, ensuring development and maintenance of key environmental documentation and records.
- Ensure controls and sustainable ways of working are communicated at site level.
- Lead planned environmental inspections and incident investigations as required.
- Document best practices and lessons learnt, actively sharing successes and learning.
- Proactively support the Project Team to engage local community groups, supply chain, and stakeholders via social sustainability activities.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of the Construction Industry, specifically rail/construction/engineering operating environment.
- Practical experience and sound knowledge of environmental statutory requirements, including environmental legislation, ecology mitigation, environmental licensing, and consent applications.
- Ability to interpret and manage data via databases, consistent record keeping, and writing detailed reports.

Job Role
This role is to provide support and guidance to the project team working on the rail links to a Nuclear Power Station development. This will be on all aspects of environmental management, meeting legal and company standards and helping deliver a culture of continual improvement within the rail division. You will be supporting site-set up, construction controls and mitigations, sustainability opportunities and engagement throughout the construction.
The role is responsible for:
- Work closely with project teams to deliver environmental and sustainability commitments, ensuring ongoing compliance with company and customer requirements, working with clients such as Sizewell C and Network Rail.
- Demonstrate active leadership on site to proactively drive continual improvement to deliver positive outcomes, best practice and positive learning with the Project Team in line with the Rail Sustainability Plan.
- Provide environmental support, guidance, and compliance monitoring to projects, ensuring development and maintenance of key environmental documentation and records.
- Ensuring controls and sustainable ways of working are communicated at site level.
- Lead planned environmental inspections and incident investigations as required.
- Document best practices and lessons learnt, actively sharing successes and learning.

Requirements for this position:
