Environmental, Health and Safety Controller

Summary: The role of EHS Controller involves supporting the business in creating a safe and inclusive working environment while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The position requires conducting inspections, implementing safety processes, and providing expert advice on environmental health and safety matters. The contract is set to last until April 2026 and is based on-site in Broughton, Flintshire. The role is classified as inside IR35 and requires BPSS clearance before starting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the local FMRE team in ensuring appropriate risk controls are in place.
• Ensure compliance with requirements for new plant and work equipment.
• Review safety management systems of prospective FMRE contractors.
• Conduct EHS related inspections and support in collating records and action plans.
• Provide competent EHS advice for strategic projects through feasibility and design reviews.
• Implement processes and complete compliance audits for legal requirements.
• Report and investigate work-related incidents and implement remedial actions.
• Promote EHS topics throughout the organization at all levels.

Key Skills:

• NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Experience liaising with key business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of risk assessments, auditing, and health & safety.
• Background in facilities management, construction, or maintenance.
• Experience in reporting and implementing safety projects in dynamic environments.
• Knowledge of formal risk assessment and auditing techniques.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Proactive attitude towards professional development, with desired IOSH membership.

Salary (Rate): £37.04
