p>The Environment Manager will oversee the management, configuration, and maintenance of development, testing, and production environments to support software development and delivery. The role ensures that all environments are stable, scalable, and aligned with organisational requirements while supporting seamless collaboration across development, operations, and quality assurance teams.

Key Responsibilities: Environment Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain multiple environments, including development, QA, UAT, and production.

  • Define and manage environment strategies that align with project delivery schedules.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve environment-related issues to minimize downtime.

Configuration and Deployment:

  • Ensure consistent and automated deployment processes across all environments.

  • Manage environment configurations and keep documentation up-to-date.

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimise CI/CD pipelines.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for environment-related concerns.

  • Work closely with developers, testers, and infrastructure teams to provision and support environments.

  • Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders to address environment needs and risks.

Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Implement monitoring solutions to track environment performance and health.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure security and compliance standards are met.

  • Analyze and improve environment performance, scalability, and resource utilization.

Incident and Problem Management:

  • Respond to environment-related incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.

  • Maintain and communicate an environment outage and recovery plan.

Process Improvement:

  • Develop and enforce standards, processes, and best practices for environment management.

  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.

Required Qualifications:Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in managing development, testing, and production environments.

  • Proficiency with configuration management tools (eg, Ansible, Terraform, or Chef).

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (eg, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Expertise in virtualiastion and containerisation (eg, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (eg, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Educational Background and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in technical environment management or a similar role.

  • Certifications in cloud platforms, ITIL, or DevOps practices are a plus.
