Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and improve software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages and frameworks.
  • Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements and solution strategies.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and contribute to technology communities.
  • Adhere to secure coding practices to protect sensitive data and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implement effective unit testing practices for code design, readability, and reliability.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in financial services, particularly in credit card, loan, or banking environments.
  • Strong knowledge of the OpenShift Platform.
  • Mainframe expertise with COBOL, IMS, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, TWS, File-Aid, and REXX.
  • Proficiency in Java, Jenkins, web services, APIs, and service virtualization.
  • Experience with mid-tier technologies like MQ, WebSphere, UNIX, and third-party API hosting platforms.
  • Hands-on experience supporting CI/CD pipelines for DevOps teams.
  • Familiarity with mainframes, digital channels, and Barclays-specific systems.
  • Understanding of advanced cloud technologies such as aPaaS and AWS.
  • Knowledge of MQ flow, database connectivity, network, and security concepts.
