Summary: The Enterprise Network Architect role involves joining a major network refresh programme in London, focusing on designing and advising on network strategy across the UK while collaborating with various vendors. The position requires extensive experience in network architecture and design, particularly with global vendors like Cisco. The architect will be responsible for producing detailed documentation and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and advise on network strategy for a major network refresh programme.
  • Produce summary architecture documents and high-level/low-level design documentation.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network devices, ensuring effective defect resolution.
  • Manage project lifecycle from requirements gathering to operational acceptance.
  • Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and make quick decisions.
  • Understand and manage risks and dependencies associated with delivery projects.
  • Ensure design decisions support ongoing Managed Service capabilities.
  • Maintain awareness of Service Level Agreements (SLA).

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable design experience with global network vendors, particularly Cisco.
  • Strong technical networking knowledge with industry-recognized certifications.
  • Experience with WAN routing technologies including MPLS, BGP, and ISIS.
  • Understanding of encryption overlays such as IPSec and GRE.
  • Good working knowledge of LAN switching technologies.
  • Proficient in network device configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of project lifecycle and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders.

Salary (Rate): 700
