Summary: The role of Enterprise Architect - Service Assurance & Operations involves leading service assurance and operational transformation for a global consultancy in mobile telecoms and satellite convergence. This hands-on position requires ownership of the architectural vision for operational support, collaborating with various teams to enhance service quality and platform resilience. The architect will define target-state architecture and drive the adoption of industry standards while bridging business and technical teams. The position is contract-based, UK-based with some travel, and classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defining and owning target-state architecture for OSS and service assurance platforms across satellite and terrestrial networks
- Designing service assurance frameworks covering fault management, performance monitoring, SLA management, and root cause analysis
- Leading the architectural roadmap for SatCom-TelCo convergence, focused on operational interoperability and partner ecosystem enablement
- Driving adoption of industry standards (TM Forum Open APIs, eTOM, SID, 3GPP NTN) into operational and assurance tooling
- Architecting integration patterns across OSS/BSS layers with a focus on scalability, automation, and Real Time service health visibility
- Bridging business and technical teams, translating operational requirements into solution designs and delivery plans
Key Skills:
- 10+ years in enterprise or digital architecture with significant depth in OSS, service assurance, or network operations within SatCom or TelCo
- Strong knowledge of service assurance design: fault, performance, configuration, SLA management across hybrid satellite-terrestrial networks
- Proven experience applying TM Forum frameworks (eTOM, SID, TAM, Open APIs) in operational environments
- Experience delivering OSS/BSS platforms, service catalogues, and operational dashboards
- Comfortable at Director/Senior Manager level with strong stakeholder management across technical and commercial functions
- Equally at home at the whiteboard and in delivery

This is a hands-on role with real strategic influence. You will own the architectural vision for operational support and service assurance, working closely with client product, engineering and commercial teams to drive measurable improvements in service quality, platform resilience and partner ecosystem integration.
