Summary: The Enterprise Architect will provide architectural leadership across various domains including business, digital, data, integration, and AI. This role involves defining target architecture, guiding transformation initiatives, and ensuring technology investments yield measurable business outcomes while maintaining security and compliance. The position is hybrid and classified as outside IR35, indicating a flexible working arrangement and favorable tax status for contractors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in architecture roles and a strong understanding of integration-heavy, data-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain enterprise architecture vision, principles, target state, and roadmaps aligned to business, digital, and data strategy.
- Ensure initiatives align to target architecture with clear traceability to business outcomes (speed, cost, risk, customer experience).
- Balance strategic architecture with pragmatic delivery.
- Own the enterprise integration strategy and reference architecture.
- Define standards for API-led, event-driven, hybrid, multi-cloud, and SaaS integration.
- Govern iPaaS platforms (eg MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services).
- Reduce point-to-point integrations and drive reuse of secure, observable services.
- Establish enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and reference architectures.
- Review solution designs for compliance with architecture, security, data, and ethical AI policies.
- Govern technology and platform lifecycles.
- Support investment and portfolio planning with enterprise architecture insight.
- Identify opportunities for application, integration, platform, and data/AI rationalisation.
- Provide architectural leadership for cloud, digital, data, and AI transformation programmes.
- Enable agile teams through reusable platforms and self-service capabilities.
- Define standards and guardrails for AI-enabled solutions.
- Guide AI architecture patterns (data pipelines, model lifecycle, deployment, and integration).
- Ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, explainable, ethically designed, and integrated via APIs and iPaaS.
- Support responsible adoption of AI, ML, and generative AI.
Key Skills:
- 8+ years in architecture roles (Enterprise or Lead Architect).
- Experience in complex, integration-heavy, data-driven environments.
- Strong capability across business, application, data, integration, cloud, and AI architecture.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and executive-level communication skills.
- Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
