Summary: The Enterprise Architect will lead the architectural direction across IT infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and compliance with security frameworks. This role requires effective communication with senior stakeholders and the ability to influence technical decisions. The architect will embed secure-by-design principles and oversee governance processes to maintain architectural integrity. The position is based in Bristol and requires SC Clearance and DV eligibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of Architects across multiple disciplines (Infra, Apps, Cyber).
  • Defining, maintaining, and evolving enterprise-level conceptual architecture designs.
  • Translating business requirements into secure, scalable, and cost-effective architectural solutions.
  • Providing strategic direction on on-premise infrastructure strategies.
  • Embedding Secure by Design principles throughout the product life cycle.
  • Ensuring architecture and solution designs comply with NIST controls and internal policies.
  • Collaborating with security, risk, and compliance teams to assess architectural risk.
  • Leading architectural governance forums to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Establishing and maintaining an architecture governance model.
  • Influencing and advising senior client stakeholders on architectural decisions.
  • Preparing and presenting complex technical arguments clearly and compellingly.
  • Monitoring emerging technologies and driving continuous improvement in architecture methodologies.
  • Mentoring solution architects and junior team members.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in enterprise architecture roles in complex, regulated environments.
  • Expertise in IT infrastructure, application, and cyber security architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework and Secure by Design principles.
  • Proven experience leading architecture governance in large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Ability to engage and influence C-level and senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative leadership style with strong organisational awareness.
