Summary: The Enterprise Architect will be instrumental in the delivery and evolution of Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) capabilities, shaping the enterprise architecture strategy to align with regulatory requirements and organizational goals. This role involves close collaboration with business leaders and technology stakeholders to provide architectural leadership and ensure scalable, secure solutions within the energy market ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap supporting MHHS delivery.
  • Ensure architectural alignment across business, data, application, and technology domains.
  • Provide governance and oversight of solution architectures across MHHS initiatives.
  • Collaborate with programme leadership to ensure MHHS solutions meet regulatory, operational, and business requirements.
  • Establish and enforce architecture standards, principles, and best practices.
  • Assess current technology landscapes and define target state architectures.
  • Guide integration strategies across internal systems, market platforms, and external industry participants.
  • Support data architecture and analytics strategies aligned with half-hourly settlement and energy market data flows.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and technical decision support.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across technology and business teams.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in Enterprise Architecture within complex, regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of energy industry architecture, ideally with exposure to MHHS or UK energy market reforms.
  • Experience designing architectures across cloud, integration, and data platforms.
  • Familiarity with TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of API integration, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
  • Experience working within large transformation or regulatory programmes.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

This role will shape the enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring systems, platforms, and data architectures align with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and long-term organisational goals.

Working closely with business leaders, programme teams, and technology stakeholders, the Enterprise Architect will provide architectural leadership across the MHHS programme, enabling scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions within the energy market ecosystem.
