Summary: The Enterprise Architect will lead the technical development and maintenance of the council's application and solution estate in South East London. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders and an established transformation team to implement service improvements through cohesive architectural approaches. The position requires in-office presence three days a week and includes oversight of technical risks and solution design. The Enterprise Architect will also support the transformation programme team and work closely with a solution architect from the council's IT service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce overall architectures, topologies, and design documentation of solutions, including management procedures and information flows.
  • Contribute to the design of the Target Operating Model (TOM) to identify digital solutions for service improvements.
  • Ensure a cohesive architectural approach across workstreams for digital changes.
  • Build workflows, develop proof of concepts, and participate in technology stack selection.
  • Assist Programme and Project leaders in solution development.
  • Monitor the commercial market to exploit IT applications for Technology and Digital strategies.
  • Translate logical designs into physical designs considering various constraints.
  • Design solutions for problems and manage implementation tasks and activities.
  • Oversee technical risks and ensure solutions meet requirements, coordinating ongoing activities.

Key Skills:

  • Experience defining current and target state architectures, transition architectures, and roadmaps.
  • Strong organisational, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Experience leveraging digital technologies for operating model changes in local government.
  • Experience producing high- and low-level solution design documentation.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies' opportunities and threats.
  • Knowledge of user-centred service design and enterprise architecture principles.
