Summary: The role of Enterprise Architect focuses on leading a VMware to Red Hat OpenShift migration project for a banking client. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to navigate complex migration paths in a regulated environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition while providing thought leadership on relevant technologies. The role is based in Sheffield and requires a hands-on approach with a minimum of three days on-site work per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architectural design and strategy for VMware to OpenShift migration.
- Define, document, and govern the migration path across multiple infrastructure and security components.
- Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure seamless transition and delivery.
- Provide thought leadership on infrastructure, virtualisation, and security technologies.
- Act as a trusted advisor, applying consultative and stakeholder management skills at a senior level.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an enterprise or lead architecture role.
- Expertise in at least four or more of the following: F5, ASA, BIG-IP, Infoblox, ISE, RSA, SevOne, NetScout.
- Ability to understand or quickly upskill on the remaining technologies to support overall migration planning.
- Strong experience within a regulated environment (banking preferred).
- Proven ability to lead and communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
- Must be able to work on-site in Sheffield at least three days per week.

Enterprise Architect (VMware to OpenShift Migration) | £650-£750 p/day (Inside IR35) | Sheffield | 3 days on site | ASAP Start | 6-Month Contract | Banking
A consultancy partner of ours is looking for an Enterprise Architect to support a major VMware to Red Hat OpenShift migration project for a key banking client. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both broad technical knowledge and the ability to define and guide complex migration paths within a regulated environment.
- Rate: £650-£750 p/day (Inside IR35)
- Location: Sheffield (3 days on site minimum)
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: 6 months (likely extension)
