Summary: The role of IT Enterprise Architect involves designing, implementing, and overseeing enterprise-wide technology solutions, with a focus on aligning IT infrastructure with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various IT domains, including cloud services, network security, and end-user computing. This position requires strategic direction and optimization of IT systems to ensure scalability and performance. The role is hybrid, requiring presence in Edinburgh two days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain IT architecture frameworks to support business goals.
- Define roadmaps, standards, and best practices for IT infrastructure and operations.
- Lead cloud migration strategies and optimize Azure & AWS environments.
- Architect and implement Azure & AWS cloud solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Oversee Unix & Windows server environments, ensuring optimal configuration and security.
- Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
- Develop and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, VPNs, and identity management.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement security controls to protect enterprise assets.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Define and implement IT support strategies to improve service desk efficiency.
- Optimize end-user computing environments, including device management and software deployment.
- Lead automation initiatives to streamline IT operations and enhance user experience.
- Work with stakeholders to align IT architecture with business goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor IT teams on emerging technologies.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate third-party solutions.
Key Skills:
- 18+ years of experience in IT architecture and enterprise infrastructure.
- Expertise in Azure & AWS cloud platforms (certifications preferred).
- Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and identity management.
- Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows server administration.
- Familiarity with backup technologies, disaster recovery, and storage solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, CISSP are a plus.
- A bachelor's degree in business, technology, or related field.
