Summary: The role of Enterprise Architect – Core Banking is a senior position focused on leading the transformation of a tier-1/2 bank's core banking platform. Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the target architecture for core banking transformation
  • Lead migration planning from legacy platforms to modern cores
  • Advise and challenge the SI, ensuring alignment across engineering, risk, security, and ops
  • Communicate effectively at ExCo/SteerCo level – simplifying complexity, making decisions, and driving alignment
  • Engage across Product, Technology, Ops, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Regulatory stakeholders

Key Skills:

  • 10+ years in Enterprise Architecture, with deep experience in Core Banking
  • Proven leadership on at least one full end-to-end core replacement or carve-out
  • Strong grasp of payments, ledgers, data, resilience, security, and regulatory demands
  • Broad, vendor-agnostic knowledge of legacy and next-gen core platforms
  • Exceptional communication skills with the credibility to influence at executive level

Our client is supporting a tier-1/2 bank as they face a pivotal transformation—replacing their end-of-life core banking platform and evaluating next-gen solutions.

About the Role

We’re looking for a senior, independent Enterprise Architect to lead the charge, challenge the SI, and set the direction on this business-critical journey.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the target architecture for core banking transformation
  • Lead migration planning from legacy platforms to modern cores
  • Advise and challenge the SI, ensuring alignment across engineering, risk, security, and ops
  • Communicate effectively at ExCo/SteerCo level – simplifying complexity, making decisions, and driving alignment
