We are seeking an Enterprise Architect contractor to work with one our Financial Services clients. This role is responsible for the overall architecture for the client's business divisions. The role will lead architecture activity on significant projects, programmes and strategic initiatives of high complexity, adding value to a wide range of business and technology stakeholders across the client and partner organisations. Engagements will include working with specific divisions and Change Delivery teams. The products & services generated must both cohere with strategic enterprise strategies and meet the business customer’s needs while ensuring fit and integrity across other divisions. This role is for a 12 month Inside IR35 contract paying a rate of £650-750 p/d.
What you will be doing
- Translate business strategy into a practical architecture products & services that achieve outcomes, aligning with supervision, policy, competition, enforcement or market oversight, risk, or general counsel etc.).
- Own and deliver stakeholder ready material.
- Provide recommendations & assurance to senior stakeholders (including Executive Committee, Senior Leadership Teams, etc) and various Design Authorities to enable the organisation to make appropriate (value for money, strategic alignment, risk reduction, etc) business, technology and data decisions.
- Identify opportunities for business innovation and shape design proposals for executing them; drive innovation within the business where this delivers quick wins and business benefit and is in the boundary of the enterprise architecture roadmap.
- Deliver the enterprise architecture vision, strategy and roadmaps from a business, technology and data perspective, including ‘as is’, ‘to be’ and transitional states.
- Take a strategic view across all architectural domains, portfolios and programmes.
- Carry out horizon scanning across industry, identifying emerging trends and their potential impact and opportunity for the organisation.

- Experience working as an enterprise architect either in professional services, financial services, or the public sector / regulated environment.

- Experience of producing an enterprise architecture for large organizations and leading business stakeholders to enable the development and execution of their strategy.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in architectural frameworks and concepts, methodologies and mapping standards and approaches i.e. capability maps, strategic roadmaps and experience in the use of enterprise architecture tooling.
- Overall knowledge of a broad range of technology, trends and standards in providing IT products as services.
- Good facilitator, drawing out problems, active listening skills, involving and gaining commitment from the relevant stakeholders in the business with credibility and gravitas to establish trust, gaining consensus and buy-in, orchestrating engagement and collaboration with senior leadership.
- A proactive and creative thinker, whilst grounded in the use of analysis tools and frameworks to solve problems and innovate.
- Experience translating strategic documentation into practical architecture.
- Experience with formal architectural methodologies (e.g. TOAGF, BizBoK, etc).
- Excellent communication skills able to translate technical information, challenges, and requirements into easily understandable and digestible content for a business audience.
