Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare students effectively for examinations and coursework assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of attendance, progress and achievement.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to learners where appropriate.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement processes.
  • Participate in team meetings, standardisation and CPD activities as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality and health & safety policies.

  • Degree in English or a closely related subject.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching GCSE English.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.

  • Experience teaching GCSE resit students in a further education environment (desirable).
