Summary: The English, Maths and Science Tutor role involves providing tailored 1:1 tuition to secondary-aged students who are currently without a school placement in Okehampton. The position is ideal for educators looking to make a significant impact on the educational journeys of at-risk and disengaged learners. Tutors will be responsible for creating and delivering personalized lesson plans to enhance student engagement and academic performance. This role offers flexible working hours and is part-time, focusing on the individual needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition in English, Maths, and Science to secondary-aged students.
- Create, plan, and implement tailored lesson plans to address educational gaps.
- Engage with vulnerable learners to boost their academic attainment and confidence.
- Work within the community or at students' homes, adapting to family schedules.
- Support students with various learning needs, including SEND and disengagement issues.
Key Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience in UK classroom teaching.
- Creativity and patience in teaching methods.
- Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.
- Ability to think outside the box to enhance learning experiences.
