Summary: This role as an Engineering / Virtual Simulation Modelling Engineer involves supporting the development of automotive components through advanced Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques. The position requires conducting CAE analysis, proposing innovative improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance vehicle durability and robustness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in LS-Dyna simulations and a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of automotive components and systems using advanced Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques to meet durability and robustness performance targets.
  • Conduct CAE analysis, summarise findings, and provide actionable insights to design and engineering teams.
  • Propose innovative improvements to existing modelling methods to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop automated tools for pre- and post-processing of simulations, streamlining workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, packaging, and programme teams, to ensure seamless integration of solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations at design reviews, contributing to the continuous improvement of virtual modelling techniques.

Key Skills:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in LS-Dyna explicit simulations within the automotive sector.
  • Proficiency in LS-Dyna solver and CAE meshing tools such as HyperMesh or Ansa.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on full vehicle models.
  • A passion for engineering and a keen eye for detail, coupled with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
