Summary: The Engineering Technician role at Planet Pharma involves providing essential maintenance and rapid breakdown response for a leading medical device client in Rhymney. The technician will be responsible for a variety of systems, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety standards. This position requires a strong background in Electrical Engineering and experience with various technical systems. The role operates on a rotating shift pattern, emphasizing both electrical and mechanical problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement activities across production machinery, chemical processing equipment, and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical problem-solving and fault diagnosis across the site.
  • Ensure health and safety standards during engineering interventions.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and GMP in all work aspects.
  • Determine appropriate safety standards for new and existing equipment and installation methods.

Key Skills:

  • HNC / ONC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in managing electrical systems.
  • Understanding of clean room or controlled environment controls (HVAC, Humidity, Pressure Cascades).
  • Broad experience in Electrical Systems, Operations, and Maintenance.
  • Fluent PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ideally MS Project, CAD.
  • General knowledge of 18th Edition (BS-7671) IEE Regulations.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and SCADA systems is advantageous.
