Summary: The Engineering Technician role at an OEM Client in Gaydon involves working on current production and engineering vehicles, focusing on software updates, fault detection, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Update vehicles to the latest software pack for SOTA and integration testing.
- Conduct fault detection, repair, and testing of electrical and mechanical systems and components.
- Perform technical diagnosis and document results based on procedures.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical vehicle systems, including engine and chassis systems.
- Carry out service, diagnostics, and repair operations on current vehicles.
- Provide technical feedback for fault identification and support subsystem development.
- Prepare, fit, and remove test components.
- Assemble and replace systems and components.
- Manufacture and modify electrical harnesses.
- Diagnose, trace faults, rectify, and validate issues using computer diagnostic equipment.
- Read and interpret drawings and liaise with engineering departments.
- Fit harnesses and other components.
- Engineer "one off" solutions to overcome issues.
- Work under limited supervision for non-routine situations and lead daily operations.
- Train, delegate, and review the work of lower-level employees.
