Summary: The Engineering Technician within Utilities is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance activities, both planned and unplanned, to support team and business objectives. The role involves maintaining and testing autoclaves, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The technician will operate autonomously after training and support daily operations within the Seqirus Utilities team. This position is a 24-month fixed-term contract based in Liverpool, England.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engineering support for planned and unplanned maintenance requirements.
  • Plan and execute routine work.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
  • Comply with all operating procedures in operational areas.
  • Promote a cGMP compliant culture and maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety.
  • Actively promote a safety culture and report Near Misses/Accident & Incident Reports.
  • Demonstrate and coach SAP requirements.

Key Skills:

  • Engineering Apprenticeship and preferably HNC/D.
  • STM2/STM3 certification for large porous load sterilizers (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in clean utility systems in a GMP-regulated environment (preferred).
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills with attention to detail.
  • Deep knowledge of clean utility systems, including purified water, water for injection, clean steam, compressed gases, and HVAC systems (preferred).
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
  • Positive and proactive approach to problem resolution.

Detailed Description From Employer:

The Engineering Technician within Utilities will be required to perform a broad range of varied planned and unplanned maintenance activities that support the overall team and business objectives. The role holder will operate with a degree of autonomy once relevant training is completed. The main duties include the maintenance and testing of the 6 autoclaves on site at Speke, maintaining them in a state of compliance, in-control, and fit for use, capable of meeting all site needs. This role will also drive continuous improvement initiatives, cost saving and other department initiatives. In addition, you will support the day to day operations and maintenance within the Seqirus Utilities team.

Responsibilities :

  • Deliver engineering support to customers for planned and unplanned maintenance requirements and:
  • Plan and execute routine work.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed correctly, accurately in a timely manner and signed by the relevant personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
  • Be aware of and comply with all operating procedures in all operational areas.
  • Understand, execute and promote a cGMP compliant culture, ensure the highest standards of housekeeping and safety are applied within their own work area and shared workshop.
  • Actively promote a safety culture and raise and correct Near Misses/Accident & Incident Reports when required.
  • Have a good knowledge of SAP requirements, with the ability to demonstrate and coach its basic functions.

Qualifications :

  • Engineering Apprenticeship and preferably HNC/D (Required)
  • STM2/STM3 – Large porous load sterilizers (Preferred)

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience of clean utility systems in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment (Preferred)
  • Good standards of numeracy and literacy are essential together with excellent attention to detail.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Deep knowledge of clean utility systems, including purified water, water for injection, clean steam, compressed gases and HVAC systems (Preferred)
  • The role holder must have well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work under pressure are also essential.
  • A positive and pro-active approach is needed to aid resolution of issues
