Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Fatigue & Damage Tolerance assessment of repairs using approved methods and tools.
  • Create, compile and co-ordinate justification reports and associated engineering documentation for repair approval.
  • Plan, monitor and execute tasks and activities required for Repair Engineering to meet customer timelines.
  • Collaborate with Repair Design and Static Stress Engineers to develop optimum repairs.

Key Skills:

  • Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience of Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis of aircraft structures using various methods.
  • Understanding of fundamental methods of Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis.
  • Knowledge of using Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis tools (including ISAMI and Mathcad).
  • Experience in compiling Fatigue and Damage Tolerance justification reports.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).

Job Description : What you will be doing: Perform Fatigue & Damage Tolerance assessment of repairs using the client's approved methods and tools. Create, compile and co-ordinate justification reports and associated engineering documentation required for repair approval. Ensure all tasks and activities required for Repair Engineering are correctly planned, monitored and executed to achieve customer time scales. Work in conjunction with the Repair Design and Static Stress Engineers to develop optimum repairs.

About You The requirement is for an Engineer with an Aerospace Engineering background, with experience of how airframe repairs are developed and justified. You are able to manage multiple priorities to time, cost and quality in a challenging and fast paced environment. You enjoy working as part of a team to develop effective solutions to complex technical problems and ensure efficient delivery of tasks.

Essential Skills Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience. Experience of Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis of aircraft structures using a range of hand and computer methods. An understanding of the fundamental methods of Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis and an ability to apply these methods. Knowledge and experience of using the client's Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis tools and methods (including ISAMI and Mathcad). Experience of compiling Fatigue and Damage Tolerance justification reports to the client's standards and ways of working. Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).

Preferred Skills Be conversant with technical requirements for repair design. Working knowledge of the client's structures.
