Summary: The Engineering Project Manager role in Nottingham involves overseeing engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a strong focus on compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in automation or control panel build, along with strong financial acumen and leadership skills. This temporary position lasts between 6 to 9 months and offers a competitive hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost control
  • Creating and maintaining project plans, financial forecasts, and risk logs
  • Collaborating with customers, internal teams, and stakeholders to drive project success
  • Handling project variations, resource allocation, and reporting to senior management
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Delivering projects on time, within budget, and in line with customer expectations
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and issues
  • Managing project variations and collaborating with Sales on cost impacts
  • Providing regular reports to senior management and contributing to portfolio reporting
  • Coordinating with internal teams to ensure design, build, test, and installation meet specifications
  • Reviewing and approving customer proposals for feasibility
  • Contributing to process improvements and best practices in project management
  • Ensuring all work complies with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation
  • Reporting accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring compliance with safety policies
  • Participating in company safety briefings and ensuring team engagement in safety practices

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in engineering project management, preferably in automation or control panel build
  • Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Certifications in Prince2, APM PMQ, or APM Agile
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 15%) for client meetings, installations, and commissioning
