Job Title: Project Manager - Engineering (12-month FTC)

Salary Range: £37,310 - £53,300 (dependent on experience)
Matter seeks an experienced and technically driven Project Manager to join our scaling engineering team and their increasing number of workstreams. As part of the PMO team, close collaboration with cross-functional teams is a must to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our industrial sized systems focused engineering projects. You will enjoy working closely with the technical teams, clients, and third-party external manufacturers to ensure the success of key delivery milestones across a variety of projects within our Industries business units. This opportunity provides cross functional reach and exposure to a variety of teams across the business. You will need the understanding and communication skills to ensure that you are working with the correct stakeholders, driving engagement at the right level to influence delivery. This role reports to the Principal Project & Quality Manager and offers significant career growth opportunities as our scale-up expands.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical engineering background, exceptional organisational skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale industrial (high quality - low volume) engineering focused projects from inception to completion. Additionally, it would also be beneficial, but not essential, to have experience in a batch manufacturing environment, with strong intercultural skills gained through international exposure.

You will play an essential role in supporting, coordinating the delivery of key Matter technology projects, where initially you will be working on aligned projects that will make the most of your prior experience, but will quickly get the opportunity to develop and stretch yourself working on new challenges. Be part of Cleantech history and take part in contributing to Matter's journey to deliver our sustainability goals by introducing our first revenue generating products to the market that will make direct environmental impact. Working in Matters scale-up environment will offer you more responsibility and greater exposure to various departments, enabling a faster learning experience in project management & operational / technical environment. Depending on your project assignment you will possibly get international exposure were a strong intercultural collaboration with our client & suppliers. As you progress, you will be able to work on larger projects, with greater strategic responsibilities and exposure to the Executive leadership team to report on key Matter projects. This role is an initial 12-month fixed-term contract with the opportunity to grow within the team. It is possible that other permanent opportunities may arise.

About You

It might be that you come from an engineering Project Management background, having successfully delivered a variety of large-scale, technically complex projects, and may have gained some experience in a high volume manufacturing environment. Or it could be that you are a Project Engineer or experienced Junior or Mid level Project Manager, where you will have gained meaningful delivery production experience, with exposure to engineering products, FMCG, medical, or consumer related products and looking for the next step in your career journey.
Strong project engineering & production management experience within a manufacturing / engineering environment; OR Experience in project management, with some of it in a technical role or exposure to production environments. (eg. operations management, manufacturing, tooling, operations or assembly design)
The ability to work across multi-discipline projects
Leadership and the ability to drive delivery and motivate the team to deliver project requirements
Proven experience working on projects in a fast-paced environment
