Summary: The Engineering Project Manager at Blatchford will oversee critical new product development projects within a multi-disciplinary R&D team, ensuring compliance with ISO13485 standards. This role is offered as a six-month fixed-term contract and focuses on managing project requirements, timelines, and risks while delivering high-quality mobility solutions. The position requires extensive project management experience, particularly in regulated environments such as medical devices. Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identifying & documenting detailed project requirements across the business
- Facilitating the timely scoping of key projects to determine success criteria appropriately balance need for business consensus
- Providing periodic and accurate headline summaries for significant projects and an accurate predication of project trend
- Maintaining a detailed schedule throughout the project of the delivery of key project milestones, working proactively to minimise delay against agreed project timelines
- Identifying project risks in a structured way and proactively mitigate them
- Innovatively using internal and external resource to efficiently deliver business value to appropriate quality standards
- Proactively managing project change with the appropriate use of suitable project management
- Dynamically adapting formal and informal communication strategy to stakeholders across business
Key Skills:
- Engineering degree or related technical discipline
- Extensive hands-on Project Management experience, preferably supporting complex Medical Device delivery or from another regulated environment (e.g. Aerospace or Defence development, Life Sciences etc)
- Experience in volume-manufactured solutions, preferably in the healthcare industry (experience in other regulated industries may be acceptable)
- Knowledge of contemporary Project Management tools & techniques e.g. PMI (PMBOK), PRINCE 2, Critical Chain, Agile etc
- Experience of defining complex multidisciplinary plans, implementing and controlling
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 in a complex development environment
- Sound understanding of risk management principles applied to the development of medical devices
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
