Summary: The Engineering Principal Moderator for Structural Engineering T Level at City & Guilds is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and moderation processes for new T-Level qualifications. This role involves supporting a team of Lead/Moderators, developing training materials, and conducting moderation activities to ensure consistent standards. The position offers the flexibility to work alongside existing commitments while contributing to the development of the engineering education sector. Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and submit relevant assessment materials and participate in all stages of the production process until sign off.
  • Monitor and support an allocated team of Lead/Moderators to ensure a standardised and consistent approach to quality assurance.
  • Accompany Moderators on Provider visits.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of Lead/Moderator training and standardisation sessions.
  • Develop standardisation materials to support Provider marking activity.
  • Support the Associate Management team with the recruitment and training of new Moderators.
  • Produce Principal Moderator reports on trends and issues identified by moderators and Providers.
  • Conduct and document qualification moderation and advisory activities with Providers.
  • Carry out personal moderation activities including visits to Providers.
  • Prepare for and participate in awarding activities to maintain assessment standards.
