Summary: The Engineering Manager role involves overseeing engineering and design work for a Train Operating Company, requiring a client-side background in the rail sector. The position includes managing design registers, ensuring compliance with risk assessments, and coordinating supply chain resources. The contract is for a duration of 9 months, starting in April. The role demands strong leadership and technical guidance from key business leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive operational supervision and technical guidance from key leaders within the business
- Plan, develop, coordinate and review engineering and design work
- Management of all associated design registers, meeting minutes, drawing registers
- Ensure design risk assessment is compliant with installation parameters
- Lead within the weekly programme coordination/look ahead meeting with detailed understanding of dependencies, problems posed and available resolutions
- Management and sequencing of supply chain and internal resource in line with programme requirements
Key Skills:
- Experience working client side within the rail sector (preferably on Depots)
- NEC3 / NEC4 working knowledge
- Preferably a Chartered Engineer, and have a relevant engineering degree (BSc/BEng or equivalent) with minimum 5 years general relevant experience
- Health and Safety Qualification – IOSH minimum
