Summary: The Engineering Manager (C#) role involves leading engineering teams within a leading Pension Investment company for an initial 6-month contract. The role is based in London and requires in-office presence twice a week, falling outside IR35 regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering teams with a focus on delivery management and technical leadership.
- Engage in hands-on involvement in delivery and architecture.
- Establish and improve engineering standards and technical practices.
- Communicate complex technical topics clearly to stakeholders.
- Manage resource/capacity and delivery ownership.
- Write executive updates and technical summaries for senior stakeholders.
- Drive adoption of new tools, frameworks, or processes across teams.
Key Skills:

- Ability to apply algorithmic thinking and structured problem solving.
- Experience in agile software delivery with accountability for outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD, automation, and DevOps maturity models.
- Experience with C#, .NET, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and SQL.
- Proven track record in resource management and delivery ownership.

We’re working with a leading Pension Investment company that are looking for an Engineering Manager to join them for an initial 6-month contract. This person will be tasked with leading engineering teams by combining strong delivery management with hands-on technical leadership and stakeholder management. This role will fall OUTSIDE IR35 and will require travel to their City of London based office twice per week.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong background as a senior engineer, architect, or technical lead with demonstrable delivery experience.
- Ability to apply algorithmic thinking and structured problem solving to real-world engineering challenges.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams with hands-on involvement in delivery and architecture.
- Excellent communication skills - able to translate complex technical topics clearly in both written and verbal form.
- Track record of establishing and improving engineering standards and technical practices.
- Experience in agile software delivery with clear accountability for sprint outcomes, technical quality, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong background in resource/capacity management and delivery ownership.
- Experience writing executive updates and technical summaries for senior stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD, automation, observability, and DevOps maturity models.
- Evidence of driving adoption of new tools, frameworks, or processes across multiple teams.
