Summary: The Engineering Manager role involves leading engineering design across various infrastructure projects for a prominent provider in Manchester. This contract position offers a hybrid working arrangement and requires extensive experience in engineering management, particularly within the infrastructure, transport, or construction sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring project safety, quality, and cost efficiency while managing resources and client communications. Chartered status and a degree in a relevant engineering discipline are preferred qualifications for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering design across all project stages, ensuring safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage resources and scope, making sure teams are aligned on goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with clients and partners to ensure smooth delivery and clear communication.
  • Ensure compliance and manage risks by following governance standards and addressing issues early.
  • Support team development and improve engineering processes through mentoring and continuous improvement.

Key Skills:

  • Degree-qualified in Civil, Structural, or a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Chartered status (ICE, IStructE or similar) preferred.
  • Extensive experience in engineering management within infrastructure, transport, or construction sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of UK design standards, CDM regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate technical teams across multiple disciplines.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working on large-scale projects and frameworks is highly desirable.

Salary (Rate): £65/hour

Attention all Engineering Managers!We are looking for a highly experienced Engineering Manager to join a leading infrastructure provider in a contract position, outside IR35. This role will require you to work on a hybrid basis from our clients office in Manchester.This is a great opportunity to work on a mixture of infrastructure projects across the UK, with an experienced team.

-Hourly rate from £60 to £65 (depending on experience).

-Hybrid working arrangement.
