Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the AI and automation agenda across a team of 15-20 engineers.

- Oversee product engineering and data engineering initiatives.
- Manage data engineering tasks including pipelines and AI-enabling data work.
- Ensure compliance and assess risks associated with GenAI/AI tools and frameworks.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align on project goals.
Key Skills:
- Experience in AI and automation engineering.
- Strong background in data engineering and Microsoft technologies (C#/.NET, Python).
- Familiarity with Azure Data Platform and related services.

Orbis is partnering with a leading global private-markets investment firm that require an AI Engineering Manager to lead their AI / automation agenda. This is an interim role with the scope to join the company permanently. They require someone to own both product engineering and data engineering across a team of ~15–20 engineers (onshore + offshore). You would be responsible for setting the strategy for AI and automation use cases across the following technical environment: Microsoft Heavy Environment (C#/.NET and Python) Azure-centric: Azure Data Platform, Azure Databricks, Azure data services. Comfortable across Data engineering (pipelines, data platform, AI-enabling data work) Knows current GenAI/AI tools, frameworks, model types, public vs private model risks, compliance considerations Financial Services background (ideally private equity/private markets) Very strong communication and stakeholder skills
