Summary: The Engineering Manager at Cambridge Maintenance Services will oversee resource management and support for the Static team, ensuring operational requirements are met. This role involves leading a team of multi-skilled engineers, fostering effective communication, and driving operational improvements. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to align service delivery with client expectations while maintaining high standards of health and safety. The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring performance and achieving targets within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings with the operational team, aligning performance with business objectives, strategic plans, provide KPI status, service delivery and commercial performance reports.
  • Liaise with and monitor specialist sub-contractors and engineers in all disciplines to ensure the efficient operation of the site.
  • Lead regular operational meetings with engineers to ensure all are aligned with the targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong, close relationships with contract manager and the senior management team and all operational teams to align delivery requirements / standards with client expectations.
  • Drive the engineering team to ensure that they are performing efficiently.
  • Ensuring all operational services and agreed objectives are delivered on time, and in accordance with the Service Level Agreement requirements, via your team.
  • Respond to emergency call-out (be available).
  • Working with the Engineers update, and issue annual emergency call-out rota.
  • Complete the quality management system (PPM requiring attention) for your site.
  • Working with engineers, arrange Holiday and Sick Cover.
  • Site Audits.
  • Review of monthly PPM planners and ensure that the mobile teams OOH work is scheduled up to 8 weeks in advance.
  • Stand in for Engineering when required to cover absenteeism.
  • Good understanding of building services maintenance.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of Health & Safety on site.
  • Ensuring that training and development is in place for the team and being completed.

Engineering Manager Job Description Reporting to the Contracts Managers and communicating at multiple levels within the business, the purpose of the role will be to provide overall support and resource management to the Static team. The responsibility of managing resource options in line with responsive requirements. Working with the Contracts manager to understanding the resource requirements and ensuring the resource deliver the operational requirements. You will lead, manage, and motivate a team of multi-skilled engineers to be pro-active and take ownership of the site, be an excellent communicator, a clear decision maker and be an approachable people manager with a good all-round knowledge of technical and employee relations. You will monitor results and achieve targets to drive operational improvement.
