The organisation is expanding its engineering capability and building new product focused teams responsible for delivering highly visible customer experiences and measurable business outcomes.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a newly established product engineering team focused on customer engagement and loyalty.
This is a highly visible leadership position where you will work closely with Product Management, Engineering Leadership and stakeholders across multiple business domains to deliver innovative customer facing solutions.
This role combines people leadership, technical decision-making, architecture input and product delivery.
You will help establish team ways of working, guide engineering excellence and ensure the successful delivery of strategic initiatives that directly impact customer engagement metrics.
Responsibilities
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing engineering team.
- Partner closely with Product Managers to define priorities, objectives and delivery outcomes.
- Drive engineering delivery across customer-facing products and services.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple product areas and business units.
- Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance and decision-making support.
- Establish engineering best practices, quality standards and delivery processes.
- Monitor team performance, delivery progress and operational health metrics.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and team growth activities.
- Ensure applications and services remain scalable, secure and resilient.
- Promote a collaborative, customer-focused and data-driven engineering culture.
- Work closely with platform teams to leverage shared technologies and capabilities.
- Manage technical risks, dependencies and delivery challenges.

Desired Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as an Engineering Manager within a modern product-led organisation.
- Strong software engineering background with hands-on technical experience.
- Experience leading full-stack engineering teams.
- Proven ability to work effectively alongside Product Managers and business stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design and engineering best practices.
- Experience delivering customer-facing digital products and platforms.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance business objectives with technical decision-making.
- Experience building, motivating and developing engineering teams.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments.
- Exposure to experimentation, metrics-driven delivery and continuous improvement practices.
- Knowledge of modern cloud platforms, APIs and distributed systems would be beneficial.

The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background and several years of experience leading product-focused engineering teams.
You will be equally comfortable discussing architecture, delivery strategy and stakeholder engagement, whilst creating an environment where engineers can perform at their best.
You will be an excellent communicator with proven experience partnering closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders to deliver measurable customer outcomes.
Experience within customer engagement, loyalty, E-commerce or high-volume digital platforms would be advantageous, although not essential.
