Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across engineering programmes
  • Teach within one or more specialist areas such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or General Engineering
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons combining theoretical learning with practical workshop or laboratory activities
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support achievement and progression
  • Support students in developing technical knowledge, practical skills, and employability skills
  • Contribute to course development, curriculum planning, and quality assurance processes
  • Maintain a safe workshop or laboratory environment, following health and safety procedures
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student success and programme delivery

Key Skills:

  • A qualification or significant industry experience in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Manufacturing, or General Engineering
  • Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or supervising apprentices or learners
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical engineering skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) - desirable
  • Experience delivering engineering programmes in further or higher education - desirable
  • Relevant assessor or verifier qualifications - desirable
  • Professional or industry-recognised engineering qualifications or memberships - desirable

Job Summary

The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of NCG for experienced and enthusiastic Engineering Lecturers across multiple specialisms to support teaching across engineering programmes at Southwark College, Lewisham College, and the NCG Higher Education Centre in London.

About the Role

As an Engineering Lecturer, you will:
