Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the weekly production plan in collaboration with Production Leaders and Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Conduct basic first principle measurements and maintain the cell 5S standard.
  • Maintain calibration of gauges and equipment.
  • Manage the allocation of consumables, resources, and materials in the cell.

Key Skills:

  • Recognized time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering (City and Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or BTEC national).
  • Experience using various engineering equipment and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Relevant inspection experience of engine components.
  • PC literacy.
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset.
  • Willingness to develop new skills and undertake training.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and process basics.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of quality tools, systems, and procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Experience with CMM and/or FARO arm programming (desirable).

Our worldwide prestigious clients are currently seeking an experienced and time served Inspector for their modern, Nottingham based facility, with immediate effect.

The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for executing the weekly production plan, liaising with Production Leaders and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure the timeliness and efficient completion of the task to the required quality standards
  • be expected to conduct basic first principle measurement, maintain the cell 5S standard, maintain calibration of gauges and equipment and to manage the efficient allocation of consumables and resources and materials in the cell.

It is essential that the successful candidate:

  • It is essential that candidates possess a recognised time-served apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, at either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3, and BTEC national or equivalent qualification.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of engineering equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions correctly to achieve required product quality
  • Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate relevant inspection experience of engine components
  • PC literacy is essential
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate a flexible and adaptable mind-set
  • Candidates must be willing to develop new skills and undertake training to be able to operate in a flexible manner to support the Business needs
  • Knowledge of lean principles and process basics

Hours of work:

Operating across a 3 shift rotating pattern - Monday to Friday

Some production areas have the option to opt in to a voluntary 24/6 pattern once suitably trained.
