Summary: The I.C.E Laboratory Test Technician role at the University of Warwick involves supporting advanced test cell operations for internal combustion engines. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the operation of advanced test cells for internal combustion engines.
  • Collaborate with engineers, academics, and third-party teams for efficient engine testing.
  • Install and maintain instrumentation for accurate test results.
  • Conduct maintenance activities and assist with laboratory equipment upkeep.
  • Help develop test methodologies and provide technical input for customer requirements.
  • Share knowledge and support team members in familiarising with equipment and processes.

Key Skills:

  • Solid experience with internal combustion systems, including spark and compression ignition engines.
  • Hands-on skills in engine disassembly, assembly, and inspection.
  • Expertise in instrumentation installation and understanding of testing methodologies.
  • A recognised qualification such as City & Guilds Level 3 or a full time-served apprenticeship.
  • Additional skills in fabrication, welding, or machining are advantageous.
