Engine Test Engineer x 3

Summary: The role of Engine Test Technician involves joining a team at a Global Automotive Manufacturing Company in Staffordshire, focusing on the validation and sign-off of newly developed engines. The position is a 12-month renewable PAYE contract, with an expected increase in workload due to ongoing engine testing and development programs. Candidates will work in a hands-on environment, utilizing specialized testing equipment and collaborating closely with other technicians and engineers. A strong background in engine testing, particularly with gas or diesel programs, is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct performance and calibration testing of newly developed engines.
• Participate in validation and sign-off processes for engine testing.
• Utilize engine test bed packages and instrumentation for testing.
• Fault find and install testing equipment such as flow meters and current clamps.
• Collaborate with a team of technicians and engineers in a hands-on environment.
• Engage in stationary engine testing and genset testing awareness.

Key Skills:

• Qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in an Automotive Mechanical Subject or equivalent.
• IMechE Accreditation or Higher HNC / HND preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as an Engine Test Technician.
• Background in gas or diesel engine programs.
• Experience with testing instrumentation such as thermocouples and emissions analyzers.
• Ability to work hands-on in a facility and collaborate with a team.

Salary (Rate): 22.50
