Summary: The Engine Test Engineer (nights) role involves testing and validating rail engines and associated components, requiring familiarity with diesel engines and electronic control systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation into the test cells and testing of production power products in line with work instructions
  • Ensure that products meet the testing requirements
  • Ensure recording of accurate data to guarantee traceability
  • Ensure all documentation is up to date and accurately recorded
  • Help develop testing requirements for future products
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
  • Liaise with production on technical issues
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable
  • Collect failure data and provide feedback on failures to Engineering
  • Work overtime as required
  • Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental instructions
  • Take on other reasonable responsibilities within skills and abilities
