Summary: The role of Night Shift Engine Raft Stripper involves the hands-on dismantling and reassembly of engines, ensuring compliance with manufacturer and warranty standards. The position requires mechanical experience and a flexible, team-oriented approach. The successful candidate will work 44 hours per week on a night shift schedule from Monday to Friday. This ongoing contract offers a competitive hourly rate with a night shift uplift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strip mechanical components from engines according to instruction
  • Distribute new parts to appropriate engines and machinery
  • Jet wash engines after final quality checks before dispatch
  • Report any issues, near misses, or concerns to the line manager
  • Support all 5S and continuous improvement activities
  • Assist the wider team with any reasonable tasks as directed
  • Follow relevant process plans, instructions, and health & safety procedures

Key Skills:

  • Mechanical experience - ability to strip and reassemble engine components
  • Willingness to work permanent night shifts
  • Positive, proactive attitude with good communication skills
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
  • NVQ Level 3 in Motor Repairs or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience in the rail, automotive, or heavy engineering industry (desirable)
