Summary: The role of Night Shift Engine Raft Stripper involves the hands-on dismantling and reassembly of engines, ensuring compliance with manufacturer and warranty standards. The position requires mechanical experience and a flexible, team-oriented approach. The successful candidate will work 44 hours per week on a night shift schedule from Monday to Friday. This ongoing contract offers a competitive hourly rate with a night shift uplift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strip mechanical components from engines according to instruction
- Distribute new parts to appropriate engines and machinery
- Jet wash engines after final quality checks before dispatch
- Report any issues, near misses, or concerns to the line manager
- Support all 5S and continuous improvement activities
- Assist the wider team with any reasonable tasks as directed
- Follow relevant process plans, instructions, and health & safety procedures
Key Skills:
- Mechanical experience - ability to strip and reassemble engine components
- Willingness to work permanent night shifts
- Positive, proactive attitude with good communication skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
- NVQ Level 3 in Motor Repairs or equivalent (desirable)
- Experience in the rail, automotive, or heavy engineering industry (desirable)
