Summary: The Engine Builder role involves stripping and rebuilding mechanical components of engines within the rail industry, adhering to OEM manuals and assembly specifications. Key Responsibilities:

• Strip and rebuild all mechanical components of an engine as per work instructions.
• Work to OEM manuals and read assembly specifications to plan operations.
• Verify conformance of parts using measuring instruments.
• Liaise with other business units to complete tasks.
• Adhere to strict deadlines and complete documentation to company standards.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
• Report near misses and any identified failures/faults.
• Comply with Company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and HR policies.

Key Skills:

• Minimum NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds in motor repairs or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in the rail or automotive industry.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to work within a changing environment and to deadlines.
