Summary: This role offers an opportunity to join the Energy Team at Liverpool University Hospitals as a Level 3 Junior Energy Manager Apprentice on a two-year fixed-term contract. The position involves working with a team of energy and sustainability professionals, focusing on energy data management, audits, and awareness campaigns. The successful candidate will receive formal training, with at least 20% of their role dedicated to this aspect. Day-to-day management will be provided by the Carbon and Energy Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Energy data collection, analysis, and reporting; presenting data in a clear and attractive format, for example, monthly energy performance reports.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of plans to reduce energy use of the Trust.
  • Complete internal energy audits, surveys, and checks e.g. energy monitoring.
  • Assist in reviewing policies and practices in light of new/changing regulation, best practice, and Trust policy.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of awareness days, behaviour change campaigns, and presentations to staff about best practice.

Key Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills for data collection and reporting.
  • Understanding of energy management and sustainability practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present information clearly.
  • Experience or knowledge of conducting audits and surveys.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and best practices in energy management.

This role is an exciting opportunity to join the Energy Team at Liverpool University Hospitals, whilst completing the Level 3 Junior Energy Manager Apprenticeship. This role is a two-year fixed-term contract. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic team of energy and sustainability professionals within the Estates and Facilities Department. Day to day management will be provided by the Carbon and Energy Manager. This includes providing projects to manage and supporting the training that will be provided by an external apprenticeship management company. At least 20% of the successful applicants’ role will consist of formal training.
