Summary: The Energy and Environmental Consultant role is a Fixed-Term Contract position based in Nottingham, focusing on energy management support and sustainability initiatives. The consultant will ensure compliance with energy and environmental regulations while conducting energy audits and developing sustainability strategies. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in energy auditing, renewable energy systems, and environmental management. This position is integral to driving the client's sustainability goals and optimizing energy use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive energy audits for clients, identifying inefficiencies and recommending strategies for improvement.
- Collaborate with clients to design and implement sustainability plans that focus on energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and renewable energy integration.
- Ensure clients meet all relevant environmental and energy standards, including ISO 50001, ESOS, and local guidelines.
- Analyze energy consumption data, identifying patterns and opportunities for optimization.
- Lead the implementation of energy-saving measures, such as renewable energy systems or energy-efficient technologies, ensuring timely and effective execution.
- Prepare reports to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of client projects, supporting informed decision-making.
- Build relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment on sustainability objectives and practices.
- Provide training and guidance to clients and teams, promoting energy management best practices and sustainability awareness.
Key Skills:
- Master’s degree in Environment and Energy Management (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in energy modelling software such as PVsyst, Excel, and similar tools.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, including ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and ESOS.
- Proven experience in energy consulting, environmental management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of energy audits, renewable energy systems, and sustainability frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, with a capacity to simplify complex concepts for diverse stakeholders.
- Industry experience in a relevant field.
- Certification in energy management (e.g., CEM, CMVP) is preferred.
- Membership of professional bodies such as the Energy Institute (EI) or the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) is preferred.
- Experience using AI-based tools for energy forecasting and optimization.
- Knowledge of carbon footprint calculations and reporting frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, CDP).
