Summary: The role of Endevor Administrator involves managing day-to-day Endevor administration and supporting strategic mainframe initiatives within a global team. The position requires expertise in designing and optimizing Endevor environments while providing L3 support and acting as a liaison to development teams. The candidate will also contribute to project meetings and produce technical documentation. Strong experience in mainframe development and Endevor is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily Endevor administration: environment maintenance, lifecycle setup, approvals, security, and audit/compliance.
- Design, build, and optimize Endevor environments, life cycles, stages, processors, and packages for new and existing apps.
- Provide L3 support: incident triage, root-cause analysis, permanent fixes, and preventive improvements.
- Act as primary liaison to mainframe development teams; drive best practices and ensure smooth integrations.
- Contribute to regional/global project meetings; coordinate changes and deployments across time zones.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and change records.
- Champion product innovation and process automation around Endevor and adjacent toolchains.
Key Skills:
- 8+ years in mainframe development/administration with 5+ years hands-on CA/Broadcom Endevor.
- Deep knowledge of Endevor architecture (environments/stages, elements, SCL, processors, packages, exits, security).
- Strong z/OS fundamentals: TSO/ISPF, JCL, SDSF, dataset management, and RACF/ACF2/Top Secret awareness.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot application integrations and deployment pipelines within Endevor.
- Experience operating in global, multi-team programs; comfortable with occasional off-hours support.
- Scripting/automation: REXX, CLIST, Python, or automation frameworks for Endevor utilities.
- Knowledge of APIs/Endevor Web Services, Git integrations, or hybrid CI/CD patterns for mainframe.
- Familiarity with DB2/CICS change flows and impact analysis.
- ITSM exposure (ServiceNow/Jira), change/release and audit controls (SOX, separation of duties).
